chapƮer 5 Although the room was anything but quiet, Livia could clearly hear her heart beating, making her ears throb with stress. She stayed close between Julie and Janie as her eyes roamed around. She made the knuckle of one of her fingers crack subtly and inhale deeply just in time to see the three boys coming out from a door at the other side of the room, laughing together.
Zac noticed them and immediately, his eyebrows raised and his lips curled. He waved at them and slowly ran to them. He grinned, showing his straight teeth and Julie felt her heart melt. She tried to hide it and smile back, extending her hand.
"Hey, I'm Julie." she presented herself as Taylor ans Isaac joined them.
Zac shook her hand and they all presented each other quickly, shaking hands, as a bunch of "hey's" and "how are you's" flew around.
When Taylor extended his hand in front of Livia, her eyes moved down to look at it and she licked her lips nervously. She had been in love with him for so long, yet he didn't even know her and suddenly, her crush on Taylor Hanson felt juvenile, almost ridiculous. She looked up and their eyes met. Her heart twisted in pain but she still managed to smile and shake his hand. The contact of his skin against hers sent a rush of adrenaline through her brain. Pathetic or not, this crush was still completely alive.
The three girls followed Zac as he pointed the couch to them and they sat down while the boys sat in front of them, on an other couch.
"We checked your blog." Isaac let out with a smile. "We love it."
"Yea." Taylor continued with a grin. "We bookmarked it."
The girls laughed and Janie got out a recorder from her purse.
"One Two." she tested the machine. "Say "
Janie is amazing."
Isaac laughed but moved closer, keeping a smile on his lips.
"Janie is
definitely amazing."
Tilting her head on the side, the pretty brunette smiled to him and thanked him before to rewind the tape and hit the play button. All of them could clearly hear Isaac's voice repeating Janie's comment and it brought an other smile on all their lips.
"Good, it's working." she expressed. "We can start the interview."
They had prepared a bunch of questions the night before and although some of them were sexual jokes because they were tired and it was late, some pretty good ones came out and they were ready. Everything was going on fine and all of them seemed to have a good time.
"Okay, now for the "
Which Hanson..?" interview." Janie invoked after reading her notepad.
"This will be interesting." Zac mentioned, laying his elbows on his knees to get closer, eager to hear the questions.
"Okay, who's the messiest?"
The three boys looked at each others with grins and then laughed while the girls frowned, amused.
"We've had this question before and we came to the conclusion that Isaac was the messiest." Zac explained.
"And apparently, I'm the dirtiest." Taylor let out.
Livia tried to suppress a laugh without much success and everyone turned to her. Embarrassed but still unable to keep herself from smiling, she looked away for a second and then dived her eyes back into Taylor's despite herself. He was half-smiling to her, staring back at her.
"Apparently?" Janie wondered, raising her eyebrows.
"Okay, okay, I am." he finally admitted.
"And I'm the smelliest." Zac announced.
"Well, thanks for not proving it tonight." Julie half-joked before all of them burst into laughter.
"Who knows how I'll smell next time we meet?" he jested, raising his eyebrows to the cute blond who stuck her tongue out in a grimace. "Hey! That's not nice!"
Julie laughed and he grinned to her. She could ever swear she saw his eyes sparkling for the fraction of a second.
"Who's the most romantic?"
"That's a tough one." Zac started. "Isaac is, but then again, he's a lady's man I mean, he's a real flirt and he's had too many girlfriends to count."
"I did
not, I can count."
"When you need to use more than two hands, it's called
too many to count." Taylor noted.
"Most of them were not girlfriends though, just..." Isaac tried to explain, stopping himself mid-sentence.
"Flirts, yea." Taylor laughed.
"Flirting is fun!"
"It is." Janie agreed with a nodd. "No one's judging you for that."
"Thank you." Ike replied, moving his head on the side and sending her a smile.
"See?" Zac pointed, laughing. "He's doing it again."
"Shut up." his older brother joked, still looking at Janie.
After a few more questions, the girls had discovered many things about them and Janie nodded to herself, stopping the tape recorder.
"Well, I think we've got enough." she let out. "Thanks boys."
They six of them got up almost at the same time and a silence took place between them.
"You don't have to leave now, you know?" Ike proposed, putting his hands in his pockets. "There's plenty of food in the other room and we planned on spending the evening with everyone talking and drinking."
"Sure, you girls are welcomed to stay with us."
Livia moved closer to Janie and grabbed her hand, squeezing her fingers.
"Nice!" the brunette exclaimed. "We'll stay."
She turned to Julie and sent her a questioning look. Her friend simply grinned and raised her shoulders.
"Who would say no to that?"
